What is bacteriostatic water?
Sterile water with a preservative (typically 0.9% benzyl alcohol) that inhibits bacterial growth, enabling multi-dose use of a sealed vial.
How is it different from sterile water?
Sterile water contains no preservative and is single-use; bacteriostatic water’s preservative allows repeated access to one vial.
How should it be stored?
At controlled room temperature unless the label states otherwise, sealed until use, with the stopper wiped before each access.
